Job Description:
The Senior Data Integration Architect leads the design, development, and management of scalable, secure, and efficient data integration solutions for the Department’s Integration Broker (IB) service. This role ensures 24/7 data exchange operations across 20+ partners, handling over 100,000 records/messages monthly, with a focus on healthcare data formats such as EDI X.12, HL7, and FHIR.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, design, and optimize data exchange solutions aligned with government and healthcare regulatory requirements (including HIPAA).
Develop and maintain integration scripts using Unix, Java, Python, and SQL Server.
Lead the use of integration engines such as Cloverleaf and Mirth, ensuring compliance with data encryption methodologies.
Apply business process automation to improve operational efficiency.
Oversee ETL/ELT processes enforcing data governance principles.
Act as a subject matter expert in meetings with stakeholders, providing technical guidance and translating complex concepts into non-technical language.
Maintain up-to-date documentation on integration architectures and service processes.
Collaborate with Department leadership to assess trends, performance, and opportunities for cost-effective improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Cloverleaf Level II, Mirth) preferred.
10+ years of experience in large-scale data integration, including healthcare data standards (EDI, HL7, FHIR).
7+ years in business process automation and project management.
Proven experience designing scalable, government-grade data exchange architectures.
