Litigation Attorney, Plaintiffs'

Legal - Atlanta, GA - Full Time

Growing law firm located in Metro Atlanta, is seeking a plaintiffs' litigation attorney who can hit the ground running to assume and manage a caseload of pre-lit and litigation personal injury matters.  You will be responsible for providing injured claimants with legal advice, guidance, and outstanding representation.   You will be part of a fast-paced team environment and will have all the necessary tools and support to allow you to focus on the proper workup of cases in preparation for settlement or trial.  The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated and results-driven litigation/trial attorney with three (3) to five (5) years’ plaintiffs’ or defense experience.  Paralegal support staff is provided to assist attorney litigators.

Position Summary:  Oversight of litigation cases at all stages of litigation; propounding and responding to discovery; conferring with opposing counsel on discovery disputes; attending hearings preparing necessary motions; preparing subpoenas; law and motion work; taking and defending depositions; and preparing trial documents.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide competent representation through legal knowledge, skill, thoroughness, and preparation reasonably necessary to deliver successful client outcomes.
  • Conduct client meetings and develop trial strategies.
  • Courtroom appearances to include attending pretrial conferences, motions hearing, and jury trials.
  • Draft substantive pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents and memos.
  • Discover relevant facts and evidence through all phases of discovery.
  • Demonstrate leadership and team working skills in support of a collaborative environment.
  • Desire to "take ownership" of files and move them forward towards settlement or trial without cutting corners on the client's case.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Negotiate and mediate the best results for clients.
Qualifications:
 
  • Must have an active bar license to practice law in the State of Georgia.
  • Must be an active member and in good standing with the Georgia State Bar.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of personal injury or insurance defense experience.
