Position Summary: The Veterinary Technician is responsible for performing routine checkups and other medical procedures on animals to ensure their health and well-being.

Position Summary: The Veterinary Technician is responsible for performing routine checkups and other medical procedures on animals to ensure their health and well-being.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Examine and evaluate the overall health of all animals in the shelter.
- Assists with euthanasia procedures as directed by veterinarian.
- Administer medication, assist veterinarian during surgery and monitor animals during recovery period.
- Conduct pre-adoption health examinations and prepare animals for adoption.
- Monitor medical supplies and record use of controlled substances to ensure Drug Enforcements Administration (DEA) requirements are met.
- Adapt practices to ensure the most current approaches to animal health and welfare are implemented.
- High School Diploma
- Associate’s degree or equivalent education that focuses on the care of animals, preferred.
- Experience in clinical setting for practical experience.
