Summary:
The Project Engineer I will be responsible for assisting a Project Manager and Superintendent on a construction management project both in the office and on the project site. The Project Engineer I will assist with scheduling preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project. The Project Engineer I manages the project team resources and overall quality control of the work to ensure projects are completed according to project plans and specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with subcontractors, vendors and architects to ensure that projects are completed on time and at the price budgeted and agreed upon with the individual, business or agency providing funding.
- Frequently visit the construction site to monitor the progress and catch any problems that may occur.
- Assist with drawing & document coordination to include sending drawings to bidding subcontractors via electronic transfer, FedEx & UPS.
- Keep project documents organized, as well as distribute documents to all parties involved with a project.
- Prepare submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, bid proposals, etc.
- Develop and maintain project matrices for document control and use Excel spreadsheets and ComputerEase software to track documents, RFl's, drawings, and change orders.
- This position will be exposed to cost estimating, planning, scheduling, materials procurement, cost control, and quality management.
- Meet all project deadlines.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Experience:
Associate Degree or two years of college curriculum in civil engineering, construction management, construction science, or architecture and zero to two years related experience. Prior construction estimating experience is a plus.Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Required Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to read blue prints/specification and effectively use the following computer programs within a reasonable amount of time:

- Must have a strong fundamental knowledge of engineering and management principles, and a knowledge of business procedures, economics, and human behavior.
